Collection definition
This document is for Invicti Platform
A Collection is a flexible grouping mechanism used to organize assets and even applications, making it ideal for creating reusable, business-aligned structures and—and for managing access control.

Key features
-
Groups assets and applications:
Collections can include:
- Individual assets
- Entire applications (and therefore, their assets)
-
Many-to-many relationship:
- An asset or application can belong to multiple collections
- This allows for overlapping, reusable groupings
-
Nested structure:
Because collections can contain applications, they indirectly group all assets within those applications
-
Access permissions:
Collections are commonly used to control what users can access:
- Assign users or teams to specific collections
- Limit visibility to only the assets and applications inside
- Ideal for business units, regions, or client-specific segregation
-
No dedicated dashboard:
Collections are primarily used for organization, filtering, and access management—they don't have their own vulnerability dashboard like Applications do
-
Best for:
- Organizing by team, environment, or business function
- Managing user permissions and visibility across different parts of the organization
You can compare collections with applications or learn how to create a new collection in the linked documents.
