Install standalone LSR on Windows

This document is for Invicti Platform

The Invicti standalone Login Sequence Recorder (LSR) allows you to record login sequences and business logic flows (BLR) for use with internal agents. This is especially useful when scanning internal targets that require authentication or involve multi-step user interactions.

This guide shows you how to install the Invicti standalone Login Sequence Recorder on Windows and how to open it in BLR mode.

note

The standalone LSR needs to be installed on a machine in the same network as the target.

Install on Windows

  1. Click the following link to download the Invicti LSR setup file:

  2. Run the installer.

  3. When installation is complete, you have a program group with two items: one to record a login sequence and another to edit a login sequence.

Open in business logic recorder mode

You would use the BLR (Business Logic Recorder) mode to record complex user interactions that go beyond standard login, such as:

  • Multi-step forms
  • Conditional input flows
  • Custom user workflows (for example, shopping cart, checkout, onboarding)

Running the LSR in BLR mode allows you to define these sequences so the scanner can fully explore and test areas of the application that require specific user actions to reach.

To open the LSR in BLR mode, follow these steps:

  1. Once you have installed the standalone LSR using the preceding steps, open Command Prompt and change to the Invicti LSR directory.

  2. Run the following command:

    node lsr logic
  3. The Invicti LSR now runs in BLR mode.
