Add new user

You can add users to Invicti AppSec manually or by importing them from a configured single sign-on (SSO) provider. You must create users before they can log in, receive issue assignments, or receive reports.

note

Users cannot be assigned directly to projects. Users must first be added to a team, and the team is then assigned to projects. For more information, see Add or remove team members.

Steps to add a new user

  1. Select Users and teams > Users from the left side menu.
  2. Click Add User.
  3. Fill in the following fields:

UsernameA unique username (minimum 3 characters, alphanumeric characters, underscores, and dashes allowed).Yes

RoleThe role to assign to the user. This determines their permissions. For more information, see Roles overview.Yes
PasswordA password for the user (8-30 characters). Only required for manual authentication.Yes (manual)

Shadow UserA backup user who receives issue assignments when this user is unavailable. For more information, see Shadow user assignment.No
Business UnitsThe business units to associate with this user. Only shown for roles that support business unit access.Conditional
  1. Click Save to create the user.

You can also import users in bulk from SSO providers under Integrations > Single Sign-On Tools by clicking Fetch Users on the configured provider.
