Understand the scan page
The Scans page provides a centralized view of all scan activity across your organization. It is organized into five tabs:
- Queue: scans that are currently waiting to run or in progress.
- Completed: scans that have finished successfully.
- Failed: scans that encountered errors during execution.
- Calendar: a calendar view of scheduled and completed scans.
- Imports: scans created from imported vulnerability files.
To access the Scans page, select Scans from the left side menu.
Only scans that are scheduled for the next 24 hours and the ones completed in the last 5 minutes are listed on this page.
Scan types
The Queue, Completed, and Failed tabs display a Scan type column that indicates how each scan was initiated:
| Scan type | Description |
|---|---|
| Scheduled | The scan was scheduled through the user interface. |
| Rescan | The scan was triggered by clicking the Rescan button in the user interface. |
| Validation | Invicti AppSec automatically initiated the scan in response to an issue closure in the issue manager. |
| Webhook | The scan was automatically initiated in response to an event (such as a pull request or merge) in the ALM tool. |
| Import | Vulnerabilities were imported through the user interface. |
| KDT | The scan was initiated through the Invicti AppSec CLI (KDT). |
| KDT + Import | A vulnerability file was imported through the Invicti AppSec CLI (KDT). |
| PR | The scan was initiated through the Invicti AppSec CLI (KDT) using the -b (branch to scan) and -M (target branch) parameters. |
