Scheduled scans upgrade guide

When upgrading from Invicti Enterprise to Invicti Platform, scheduled scans are carried over with specific safeguards to prevent unexpected scan executions.

This document explains how scheduled scans behave after migration and what customers should review before the next execution.

Scheduled scans state after migration

  • Scheduled scans are enabled by default after migration.
  • This is intentional to preserve existing automation and scanning continuity.

However, execution depends on additional validation checks.

Trustlisting requirements

Before scheduled scans execute, customers must ensure that any required whitelisting or trustlisting configurations are still valid and in place.

We strongly recommend reviewing the following trustlisting documentation.

This includes but isn't limited to:

  • Firewall / WAF allowlisting
  • Network-level restrictions
  • Application-level protections that may block scanner traffic

Revisiting these configurations ensures scheduled scans run successfully and without interruption.

Scheduled scans that aren't carried over

The following scheduled scans are intentionally not carried over:

Schedules without a next execution time

If a scheduled scan has no Next Execution Time, it's not carried over. This usually indicates an inactive, paused, or incomplete schedule.

Group scheduled scans

Group-level scheduled scans aren't carried over at this time.

These schedules will need to be recreated manually in Invicti Platform once Application/Collection-level scanning is available in Invicti Platform.

After upgrading to Invicti Platform, we recommend:

  1. Review scheduled scans and confirm expected schedules are present.
  2. Verify whitelisting/trustlisting rules based on current security controls.
  3. To avoid scans from both products, you may want to turn off scheduled scans from Invicti Enterprise after verifying the whitelisting/trustlisting rules for Invicti Platform.
  4. Create Application/Collection-level scanning (as a replacement of Group scheduled scans) when the feature is available in Invicti Platform.

Summary

  • Scheduled scans are carried over and enabled by default.
  • Whitelisting/trustlisting must be reviewed to ensure successful execution.
  • Schedules without a Next Execution Time are not carried over by design.
  • A quick post-upgrade review helps avoid unexpected scan failures.
  • Group scheduled scans are currently excluded and must be recreated manually.
