Edit role

You can edit the name and settings of custom roles. To modify a role's permissions, see Amend role permissions.

note

Built-in roles cannot be renamed or have their settings changed. You can only amend their permissions.

Steps to edit a custom role

1. Select Users and teams > Roles from the left side menu.
2. Click the edit icon in the Actions column for the custom role you want to modify.
3. Update the fields as needed:
   • Name: the display name of the role (minimum 3 characters, must be unique).
   • Parent role: the built-in role from which permissions are inherited.
   • Use business units: enable or disable business unit association.
   • Team based access: enable or disable team-based access restrictions.
4. Click Save to apply your changes.
