NTA environmental impact

The Invicti Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA) is designed to operate with minimal environmental and operational impact.

Passive operation model

  • NTA functions by passively observing existing network traffic through supported integrations such as traffic mirroring, taps, or service mesh deployments.
  • It does not generate additional network requests, scanning traffic, or synthetic load against applications or APIs.

Resource utilization

  • Resource consumption is limited to the compute environment where NTA is deployed (CPU, memory, storage, and network I/O).
  • The level of resource usage is comparable to standard observability, logging, or monitoring components commonly used in modern application environments.
  • No additional infrastructure is required beyond what is necessary for traffic observation and analysis.

Environmental considerations

  • Because NTA analyzes already-existing traffic and does not actively probe or stress systems, it does not introduce incremental workload that would materially increase energy consumption.
  • Any indirect environmental impact is therefore bounded by the customer's infrastructure choices (cloud provider, region, scaling policies, and retention configuration).

Production safety

  • NTA is suitable for use in production environments when deployed according to best practices.
  • Its passive design ensures no disruption to application behavior, performance, or availability.

Summary

Invicti NTA has no direct environmental impact beyond the normal operational footprint of the infrastructure on which it runs. Its passive, non-intrusive architecture ensures minimal resource consumption and aligns with responsible and sustainable infrastructure practices.
