Configure alerts

You can configure alerts to receive notifications about scan results and other events through Slack, email, or other notification tools integrated with Invicti AppSec.

Prerequisites​

  • You must have an active integration (for example, Slack or an email service) configured under Integrations. For more information, see Integrations overview.
tip

When alerts are enabled at a project level, Invicti AppSec sends alerts about completed and failed scans by default. You can also create custom rules for more specific cases.

Global and project-level alerts​

You can set alert rules at two levels:

  • Global level: Rules apply across all projects. You can create separate rules for separate teams so that those rules apply only in the projects assigned to those teams. A global preset rule set as default is automatically applied in all projects.
  • Project level: Rules apply only to a specific project.

If a global default preset rule exists, any rules you add at the project level work alongside the global preset rule. Alerts are sent for all matching conditions at both levels.

Steps to configure alerts​

  1. Select Projects from the left-side menu.
  2. Navigate to the project for which you want to create alerts.
  3. Open the Settings tab and choose Alerts.
  4. Use the Via drop-down to specify the tool (for example Slack)
  5. Complete the additional fields that appear for your selected tool, such as the channel name for Slack.
  6. You have two options:
  • import global rule using the Import global rule button. The imported preset rules appear in the project's alert list. You can edit imported rules at the project level without affecting the original global-level rules.
  • add custom alert manually using the Add custom alert button.

Configure email recipients​

For email alerts, you can choose who receives notifications:

  • Team leads only: send emails to only the team leads in the project.
  • All team members: send emails to all team members in the project.

Regardless of the selection, you can also send notifications to other Invicti AppSec members by selecting them in the Additional email recipients section.
